About our school

Primary School No. 4 in Koszalin is a small and safe school, with the friendly or even familial atmosphere. Thanks to the engagement of all the school staff we can be proud of:
• being awarded with the certificate ‘The School with Standard’ (the certificate no. 603/2003)
• getting the title of ‘Pupil-Friendly School’ dated to 1st March 2005
• entering Little Baseball League (we are the only school in our province with the baseball team) and getting the certificates in 2004, 2005, 2006
• receiving the highest number of points in the measurement taken by Education Office in Szczecin, branch office in Koszalin in May 2005
• entering the Zachodniopomorska Network of Schools Promoting Healthy Lifestyle dated from 18th September 2005 (decision no. 11/2005)
• being awarded with the certificate ‘Zachodniopomorska School of Quality’ (certificate no. 073 dated to 14th June 2006).
Moreover, the school takes part and works on many Polish national and European programmes. We are one of not many primary schools in Koszalin carrying out the program Socrates-Comenius. We’re cooperating with schools from Finland, Germany and Latvia.
We are also cooperating with the organization called Polish Community which gives us a chance to have a contact with the school in Egliszki, Lithuania.
In our school there are lots of interesting educational programmes as well as innovative ones on different subjects in progress, which enrich and attract the obligatory school programmes. After school time we offer our learners a lot of additional classes to choose from such as subject clubs, the flute band, the music band where they can develop their interests or hobbies. They can attend the meetings and work for different organizations like LOP (League for Preservation of Nature), the School Government, The European Club and PCK (Polish Red Cross), too. On 17th March 2006 we were awarded with the PCK Badge of Honour of the 3rd level (no. 148705) by Creative Schools Society and PCK Main Board.
What’s more, in 2005 we started the School for Parents.
Every year we plan and organize a lot of school parties. Some of them have happened to become our tradition, for example taking the oath by the first-class learners, St Andrew’s Day party, Santa Claus Day, Nativity Play, the class Christmas meal, the carnival party, collecting money for the charities like WOSP or Help for Animals, writing Valentine’s cards, the first day of spring, music concerts, meetings with the local authorities on Government Bodies’ Day, Sports Day, Children’s Day and the graduates’ party.
Furthermore, every school year we organize and take part in many different school or interschool competitions. To give some examples of the competitions we organize, we should mention: the Interschool Prophylactic Competition “I have healthy lifestyle, I am free from addictions”, Koszalin’s Christian Song Competition, the Interschool Ecology Competition, the Interschool Competition in the Knowledge of the European Union, the Interschool English Song Competition, etc. What is very important for us is the fact that each year our pupils are successful in many competitions and get the rewards for their educational achievements from the Town President of Koszalin, Miroslaw Mikietynski.
To fulfil the list, we also should boast about organizing sport competitions in table tennis, cross-country race, track-athletics, winter two-event competition, three or four-event athletics competitions or high jump by music. However, our learners try to participate in many other interschool sport competitions – in judo, karate, swimming, mini football for boys and girls, athletics anti-alcohol meetings and relay cross-country races.
In general, our school is, as the learners themselves say very special, because everything we do, we do it only for our children.
