Christmas holiday, full of charm, white and snowy, is celebrated from 4th century. The 25th December is rather a symbolic date commemorating the birth of Jesus, because the actual date of his birth isn't known.

It's preceded by four-week advent ended with Christmas dinner and Midnight Mass. In 17th century there started the tradition we know today.

It includes meetings with the family by the Christmas table, on which we can't lack a holy wafer, wishes, giving presents, Christmas tree and  carol singing. This is a family holiday, but to that beautiful  tradition we also have to add the presence  of an empty cover on the table waiting for an unexpected guest.
